Being a wrestler runs in Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's family.

Simone Johnson, the pro wrestler-turned-daughter, actor's has just announced her pro wrestler identity ahead of her World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) debut.

The 20-year-old has been training for her debut for nearly two years, and despite her young age, she is apparently trying to follow in her father's footsteps.

Simone will be the fourth generation on her father's side, and she has declared that she will be known in WWE as Ava Raine.

She revealed it on Instagram and even changed her Twitter handle to the pseudonym.

The athlete's announcement comes after she first inked a contract with WWE in early 2020.

Her debut was apparently delayed due to injuries that required surgery; however, Simon is now fully prepared to go, with the full backing of her renowned father as well.

In a social media post, the "Jumanji" actor gushed about his daughter's decision to follow in his footsteps, saying, "First and foremost, what an honor that my daughter wants to follow in my footsteps, but more importantly, follow in my footsteps sounds cliché, but she wants to create and blaze her path, which is so important."

Dwayne Johnson's father, Rocky "Soulman" Johnson, and great-grandfather, Peter "High Chief" Maivia, were both professional wrestlers long before he joined WWE.

However, Simone's decision was not without criticism.

She faced hostility and parallels to her wealthy relatives, but the upcoming pro-wrestler spoke out and stated unequivocally that she intended to make it in the profession.

Simone Johnson earlier stated in a tweet, "I don't get why people being depicted as different persons from their family name is such a contentious matter."

"A name does not negate any earlier achievements from any family."

Simone also said that she had wanted to be a wrestler since she was a child, claiming that she had fell in love with the sport when she was a toddler.
