Adele is taking a break from performing in Las Vegas due to illness.

On Tuesday, the superstar announced via Instagram and X, formerly Twitter, that she decided to postpone the March dates of her Las Vegas residency as she recovers from her illness, which had taken a toll on her voice.

According to Adele, her doctors had advised her to "rest thoroughly" before taking the stage again.

"Sadly, I have to take a beat and pause my Vegas residency," Adele wrote in a statement. "I was sick at the end of the last leg and all the way through my break. I hadn't quite gotten the chance to get back to full health before shows resumed and now I'm sick again, and unfortunately it's all taken a toll on my voice."

"And so on Doctors orders I have no choice but to rest thoroughly. The remaining 5 weekends of this leg are being postponed to a later date," she added.

Adele has yet to announce when ticketholders for her March shows can see her live, but she said her team will "send the information [as soon as possible]."

"I love you, I'll miss you like mad and I'm sorry for the inconvenience x," Adele wrote in her post.

Adele performs every Friday and Saturday night at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for her "Weekends with Adele" residency.

She postponed 10 dates in total, including March 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, and 30.

Adele's announcement sparked backlash among some users, with a number of fans claiming that they had already paid for flights and hotels.

"What are we supposed to do? We paid for flights and hotels," one person commented on her post.

However, many others expressed support for Adele in the comments section of her post and wished her a speedy recovery.

"We love you, queen!! Take a break, you are human and you and your melodious voice deserve to rest," one person commented.

Another fan wrote, "After 80 shows, you already deserve a rest."

"Weekends With Adele" kicked off in November 2022, several months after it was postponed in January that year due to the pandemic, and was initially supposed to run through March 2023.

However, it was extended twice due to popular demand and now totals 100 shows.
