Tina Knowles shared her response to Charles Barkley's statement about her hometown via Instagram.

On Sunday, Beyoncé's mom reposted a video from her niece @angiebeyince showing a clip from "NBA on TNT" where Charles "Chuck" Barkley jokingly said that the New Orleans Pelicans should go to Galveston, Texas, after a playoff loss.

When Shaquille O'Neal asked Chuck where the Pelicans were going, he responded, "Galveston. That dirty a** water. We not even gonna send them to Cancun," causing everyone to laugh.

Responding to the professional basketball player turned TV analyst on TNT and CBS Sports, Queen Bey's mom defended her city but said they "got a great laugh" from Chuck's remarks.

"Chuck, we don't play about Galveston, Texas. You better watch it s***er! Our water might not be blue, but it is still the beach, and we love it! In fact, what you probably don't know is it's an island," she wrote, filling her post with lots of laughing emojis.

"...Jay sent this to me and Angie B yesterday. He asked us if we're gonna let [Chuck] talk about our city like that! All good @charleswbarkley, we got a great laugh."

Tina also informed the netizens in advance that there were no ill feelings between her and the former NBA player, saying, "You all, don't start no s__t."

Meanwhile, her followers found it funny that her son-in-law Jay Z "instigated" it.

"Not Jay Z instigating," commented one netizen, while another wrote, "Not Jay stirring the pot."

"Jay Z instigating this makes it even funnier," agreed someone else.

"LMFAO. Jay is just like me. I can hear him now. 'He disrespecting your city, you all gonna take that?'" quipped another commenter.

"Not Jay being messy and sending you this," remarked a fifth user.

"Hahaha! Chuck is in trouble now. I love how you love Galveston, Ms. Tina," wrote Yvette Noel Schure, Beyoncé's publicist.

The hilarious exchange continued after Ms. Tina's post was shown on Barkley's show. He ended up apologizing for his comments about Galveston, causing his co-hosts to laugh.

With his hands clasped together, he said with a smile, "I don't want that smoke. I don't want the Beyhive and Jay after Chuck."

He was then asked what he thought of Galveston after the commotion, and he responded, "Beautiful."

But when asked if he would go on a vacation there if he got a chance, he quipped, "Oh hell no, I ain't going no vacation. I would tell you something, that water is so dirty I'd rather go to San Antonio."

Interestingly, Barkley's comments on Galveston's water were factual. In a video released by Galveston Unscripted in December last year, the uploader explained why Galveston's water was brown.

"A combination of sediment, wind, and current in the Gulf of Mexico all play a part in Galveston's dynamic water color," said the video explainer.

Barkley's statement caused the video to see a surge in views that the channel even left a new comment, saying, "Raise your hands if Charles sent you here!"
