Leah Remini appeared on Chelsea Lately Thursday and talked about her Dancing With the Stars debut.

Host Chelsea Handler joked that Remini's dance in the Dancing With the Stars premiere may not have been the best.

"I'm not a dancer, okay? You're not supposed to be a dancer," Remini replied. "That's the whole show, I thought."

Remini received a score of 21 out of 30 for her dance with partner Tony Dovolani.

Handler argued that other celebrities this season had an edge given their dancing experience, like Elizabeth Berkley (Showgirls), singer Christian Milian, Amber Riley (Glee) and Corbin Bleu (High School Musical).

"Compared to them, yeah, I look like crap," Remini admitted. "Even though I had good posture, I thought." Handler suggested that she take some pointers from friend Jennifer Lopez.

Remini quipped that Lopez is a dancer and admitted that she can't master a bunch of dance moves quickly like Lopez can. The 43-year-old actress also revealed that her young daughter thought her dance wasn't very good.

Remini made headlines recently for leaving the Church of Scientology. The actress said that she was inspired to join Dancing With the Stars for the sake of doing something new with her life.

"I think when people come out of something, and go into something new, it's so invigorating," Remini told USA Today recently. "And the amount of love and support you get for doing something, that might inspire other people during a difficult time."

Remini will perform another dance in Dancing With the Stars' second episode, which is scheduled to air on Monday, Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. on ABC. The episode will end with the first celebrity elimination of the season.
