Coronation Street actress Kym Lomas revealed what was ahead for her character Michelle in a recent interview.

Michelle will learn of boyfriend Steve McDonald's (Simon Gregson) plans to take over the Rover's Return pub, who sees it as a potential gift for her.

"Michelle's feeling a bit useless because she no longer has her job at the factory and Ryan has left," Lomas told DigitalSpy in a Monday interview. "So Steve spies this opportunity and thinks it would be a great idea to buy the Rovers for her as a gift." She added that Michelle probably has no idea of what Steve has planned for her, though she knows he's up to something.

When Michelle does find out, she'll be "fuming," according to Lomas. "Buying a pub is quite a big decision to make really, isn't it?"

Michelle doesn't necessarily feel happy about tending a bar again, but she also feels comfortable doing it.

"She's a bit fed up that she's pulling pints again, but at least she's doing something that she feels she's good at and that people appreciate her for," Lomas explained. "But when she finds out about Steve's purchase, she does go a bit mad.

The character will also be furious after finding out that Steve's mother Liz (Beverley Callard) has helped him in purchasing the bar.

"It'll be something else Steve has kept from her! She does feel as though her life is being decided for her and as though Steve is pushing her around," Lomas admitted. "However, I do think Michelle and Liz will quickly resume their friendship and will form a united front. I imagine a lot of comedy is to come out of them ganging up on Steve!"

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the U.K. on ITV.
