Week 5 of Dancing With the Stars has concluded and Christina Milian and Mark Ballas have taken their finals bows.

Despite tying for highest score of the night with former Disney Channel star Corbin Bleu and his partner Karina Smirnoff, Milian and Ballas were still in jeopardy and ultimately failed to win over the public vote.

The fourth team to be eliminated, Milian and Ballas performed the Cha Cha Cha for their final dance. With a score of 28, the couple was the highest rated all season (Bill Nye was the lowest with 14 points).

Also in jeopardy were Leah Remini and Tony Dovolani as well as Elizabeth Berkley Lauren and Val Chmerkovskiy. Dovolani and his actress partner managed to pull in 22 points for their Contemporary piece while Chmerkovskiy and Lauren received an impressive 26 for their work on the Jive.

The series new voting format is partially responsible for Milian and Ballas removal despite such a high scoring performance. Having done away with the results show, Dancing With the Stars now combines the current week's performance scores with the public voting scores from the week before.

During Week 4, Milian and Ballas received a 24 for their rendition of the Foxtrot to Jessie J's Sexy Silk. This score combined with their near elimination in Week 3 could have brought down their voting scores to a low that even a 28 couldn't fix.

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
