The 2012 MTV Movie Awards will be held Sunday featuring A-list celebrities, performances and exclusive footage from upcoming films.

The awards' ceremony will be hosted by British comedian Russell Brand at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. "Bridesmaids" and "The Hunger Games" are the movies with the most nominations at this year's event.

The two films along with "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," "The Help," and "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 1" are nominated for Movie of the Year.

Presenters include Emma Watson, Andy Samberg, Emma Stone, Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Mila Kunis, Jessica Biel, and Jodie Foster.

Johnny Depp will be honored with the MTV Generation Award tonight.

New exclusive footage of the much anticipated film "The Dark Knight Rises" will be featured as well as the new trailer for "The Perks of Being a Wallflower."

Musical performances from Fun, the Black Keys, Martin Solveig and Wiz Khalifa are also expected.

MTV says that it will also air the first re-election campaign ad of President Barack Obama during the show.

The ceremony kicks off at 9 p.m. EST.
