The midseason premiere of Reign returns with more drama among the royals.

The premiere will have Mary and Bash on the run from the castle until they are forced to return home to face their families.

In a clip of Thursday's episode, Mary bursts into Catherine's chambers where she bluntly asks her "Did you poison Aylee?"

"How dare you burst in here after the stunt you just pulled?!" Catherine fires back.

Mary demands to know Catherine's answer when Catherine responds "Of course not. I had nothing but fondness for Aylee."

Mary then asks about Kenna when Catherine reveals some information about Diane.

"Your friend Kenna, she came to me, she found out about Diane's plot to have Bash legitimized," Catherine said.

Catherine then reveals that she saw this as an opportunity to get rid of Bash and Kenna.

"I told Diane about Kenna's scheming and I gifted her some poison. I suppose I was testing her to see if she'd actually try to poison Kenna before leaving the castle. And clearly she tried," Catherine said.

 Catherine then tries to convince Mary that the poison was delivered to the wrong girl because that's the only reason she would have to kill Aylee. But Mary assumes that Catherine's reason is to make her believe Nostradamus' prophecies.

"He had a vision...of one of my ladies dying," Mary says.

The two argue more about making sacrifices, Catherine losing everything, as well as Mary losing the man that she loves.

Reign returns to the CW Thursday, Jan. 23 at 9 p.m.
