Mariah's mother coming to Genoa City?

SoapOperaNetwork.com reported that Argo actress Karina Logue is set to play Helen Copeland and will first appear on Thursday, Aug. 14. While there are no more details on the new character, her last name gives an indication - Copeland is the surname of Mariah, played by Camryn Grimes. The website also points out that Mariah once told Sharon that her late mother was named Helen. Could Logue be playing Mariah's mother?

The actress who plays Ashley, Eileen Davidson, signed on for many more episodes on the CBS show, according to SoapOperaDigest. Davidson - who first appeared on the soap opera in the '80s - is expected to appear in early September and her character won't be happy when she finds out about Jack and Kelly.

Phyllis Summers will also soon come back, a year after she fell into a coma. Two-time Emmy winner Gina Tognoni has landed the role after having a "flawless" audition, a rep told TVGuide.com. Her first appearance is slated for late summer.

Will someone replace Michael Muhney?

The Young and the Restless producers have reportedly been on the hunt to replace Michael Muhney, who was fired from the series in December. The actor, who played Adam Newman since 2009, allegedly groped his co-star, Hunter King, according to TMZ.

There were rumors that Cameron Mathison landed the role but he refuted the reports on Twitter. "Just to clear up some rumors... There is absolutely NO indication that I am going to 'Y&R' to play Adam Newman," Mathison wrote on Twitter. "Thanks for all the support tho."

Fans know that Adam is still alive, so who will replace him?
