It's been months since Adam Newman was in the explosive car accident in January and fled from Genoa City. But, in a few days, Young and the Restless fans will see his return.

Justin Hartley, who replaced Michael Muhney as the character, recently dropped a few hints of what to expect, including the fact that Adam had some plastic surgery done.

We know why Adam will come back - his wife Chelsea disables the surveillance camera in their son's room.

"He can't spy on his family anymore so, even though he's not fully recovered from his accident, he must get back to town quickly, especially after he hears Chelsea talking about Billy moving in. The control freak in him can't stand it. So, basically, Adam had a five-step plan to get back his life that would have played out over the course of a couple of years, but now he's jumping right to Step 5," the actor told TV Guide.

His return will also mark his "redemption time." That's what Hartley says in a new promo, adding, "You can't keep a bad man down."

Adam will have to correct his mistakes."There's definitely damage control to be done. Adam has massive issues but such a huge heart that you can actually find yourself rooting for him - then you get mad at yourself because he's such a d**k. But this is a culture of forgiveness. We want people to learn from their mistakes, don't we? That's what I preach to my daughter all the time," Hartley told the website.

He will also have a new love interest, Sally Kellerman, who joined the CBS soap opera as Constance Bingham.

"And it's totally different dynamics because of the generational gap, so it's not the typical, 'Here's the guy, here's the girl, they're dating, and they get it a fight and then they make up.' It's a totally different thing," Hartley told The Wrap.

"I'm sort of going behind her back and doing something that she's unaware of, and she's this sweet older lady and she's playing this sort of frail, very lovely woman. She's right in the wheelhouse of Adam's shark jaws," he added.
