Princeton Review Party Schools: Rankings for the Best and Worse [Details]
Princeton Review published and released their list of the best and worse colleges for 2013 and though the book goes on sale Aug. 21, the rankings are already posted online for those who just cannot wait for the hard copy.
West Virginia University claimed the tile for the 2012 top party school. According to the Los Angeles Times, the school has been among the nation's top 20 party schools 12 times, ranked No. 1 for three years. The University of Iowa came in second for their partying ways and Ohio University, last year's champion in this category, was third.
In accordance with their constant partying, it is of no surprise that WVU was also ranked by the Review first in "Lots of Beer" and third in "Students Study the Least."
Courtesy of the Times, here is the rest of the top 10 party schools for 2013, beginning with fourth place: the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the University of Georgia, the University of Florida, UC-Santa Barbara, Florida State University, Miami University and Syracuse University.
Providence College took home the win in the category "Lots of Hard Liquor."
The Times also included in their report that, as a polar opposite, Utah's Brigham Young University is the leader of the "Stone Cold Sober" schools for the 15th year in a row. Similarly, they received No. 1 ranking in "Scotch and Soda, Hold the Scotch."
Virgina Tech came in second for best campus food and third for "Their Students Love These Colleges" while University of Maryland was named third in "Financial Aid Not So Great" and sixth in "Students Study the Least."
University of Virginia was second in great financial aid services.
Princeton Review surveyed 122,000 students at the schools to create the rankings, with 62 ranking lists in total, according to The Washington Post. Since 1992, the Review has listed their ranking for 377 colleges.
