"I'm very happy with my choices," de Pablo said at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, according to TVLine.com. "I spent time with family, which was incredibly important for me. I've had time to deal with me, which I couldn't really do for a long time, so I'm blessed for that."

However, the 35-year-old admitted that her decision to leave the popular CBS show wasn't easy.

"I took a couple of months off, and my entire family came over which was really great. They knew that it was a tough transition for me, and within three-and-a-half months I had an offer," she said.

De Pablo is set to in the Chilean survival drama The 33. She will also play Shirah, a "sensual, mysterious and fiercely independent single mother," on CBS' upcoming miniseries The Dovekeepers. But, could she see herself returning to a television show a series regular?

"I'm not sure if I'm ready to sign a 6- or 7- or 8-year deal. I did a long run [on NCIS] and it was remarkable and I learned a lot," she said, adding, "if it was the right story. If we could keep up telling a really good story, that's the most important thing if you're an actor."

Catch her on The Dovekeepers when it premieries from 9 to 11 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, and Wednesday, April 1 on CBS.
