Although it was not an academy award-type performance, the Republicans had Clint Eastwood on their podium one week ago.  However, the Democrats are looking to counter that with some movie star power of their own; Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman and Kerry Washington.  The three stars are slated to take the political stage between 7pm-8pm EST on Thursday, Sept. 6th.

According to CNN, a tentative schedule has the Hollywood actresses speaking in unison on Thursday, which will be followed later on in the night with V.P. Joe Biden and President Barack Obama's acceptance speeches respectively for the Democratic nomination.

The three young actresses will look to give the Democratic crowd a vast generational approach from what the 82-year-old Eastwood attempted for the Republicans.  Johansson is 27, Portman is 31 and Washington is 35.

Representatives for Johansson and Portman still have yet to comment on their upcoming appearance.  Although Washington had said that she was filming in Los Angeles earlier during the week, she did not deny a scheduled appearance.

Democratic officials declined to confirm whether or not the elite actresses would be appearing.

The Democratic convention clearly will not be lacking in star clout on Thursday, as Jessica Alba and her producer husband Cash Warren will be co-hosting Super-O-Rama.  Other notable celebrities in Charlotte this week include Jeff Bridges, Patricia Arquette, Rose Byrne, Ashley Judd, John Leguizamo, and Tony Shalhoub.  Eva Longoria is also scheduled to speak around 10pm.

There will also be notable musical performances from the likes of The Foo Fighters, Earth, Wind & Fire and Mary J. Blige, amongst others.  Several other politicians are also set to take the podium throughout the historic night in Charlotte.

***It is still unclear as to whether the appearances scheduled for the 2012 Democratic National Convention are subject to change or finalized.***
