Once Upon a Time fans worried about Regina (Lana Parrilla) being separated from Robin Hood (Sean Maguire) may still have hope.

Why Does Rumple Have Such Control Over Regina on 'Once Upon a Time'?

Robin feels the consequences of living without Regina in the next episode of Once Upon a Time, which is titled Heart of Gold.

Maguire spoke with Zap2It this week about the episode and how Robin is still thinking about Regina, which should be good news to "Outlaw Queen" shippers.

Which 'Once Upon a Time' Character Is 'Lying' About Not Knowing The Author?

"The episode deals with the [question] of what does one do when you have to leave somewhere and leave the person you are in love with?" Maguire said. "Just because you commit doesn't mean he's going to stop thinking about the person he left behind."

Robin has of course committed to his wife Marian (Christie Laing), who he is protecting by stationing them outside the realm of magic. Maguire explained how Robin is essentially okay with Regina's dark past (she is, after all, the Evil Queen) considering he has his own complicated past as well.

"He loves [Regina] as she is. He's aware that she was bad. Everybody knows that the Evil Queen was the Evil Queen, but she's grown an awful lot as a character since Season 1," Maguire observed. "Robin understands that because Robin has a dark past as well. I think they see each other as kindred spirits. They are both people that have evolved to the person that we see them as now. There's a lot of reasons why I think they connect."

Maguire also noted that if Robin were to get his own happy ending from The Author (Patrick Fischler), it would be where he and Regina were in the season 3 finale, before Emma (Jennifer Morrison) brought Marian back from the past accidentally.

This episode will ultimately "explore what his mindset is," providing reasoning for his upcoming behavior. As always, fans of him and Regina are still hoping for that happy ending.
