After tons of speculation over whether or not they would or would not briefly reprise their once shared role of Michelle Tanner on the upcoming Netflix spin-off series Fuller House, sources have claimed that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have in fact signed contracts for a big reunion episode of the show.

New Updates On 'Fuller House'

According to Life and Style, the famous twins have decided to do the show despite Ashley's recent struggle with Lyme Disease, because they think it's a good way to break things up from their normal day-to-day careers.

"They figured it would be a good break from their usual work routine to go and join their old cast members," a source told the magazine. "They are both going to join in the reunion in some capacity."

The news comes as Ashley struggles to make a comeback from a severe bout with Lyme Disease that has been affecting her, but she's definitely trying to get herself back to normal in time for the reunion.

"[Ashley's] really still struggling," the source said. "But she's been trying to get on a health kick by going to the gym and talking better care of herself."

Since the show was confirmed by John Stamos, there has been a bit of controversy surrounding whether or not the twins, who quit acting as adults to pursue careers as fashion designers, would return, with both saying after the news broke that they hadn't heard anything about it.

"We just found out about it today," Mary-Kate said in an interview with Women's Wear Daily at the time. "I guess we're going to talk to the creators and see what's happening...I'm shocked I haven't heard from John [Stamos]."

"I ran into Bob [Saget] the other day and we didn't even talk about it," Ashley added. "I'm going to call [Saget] and get his perspective."

Their claims were later refuted by Stamos, who called it 'bulls--t' on Twitter, but he later took to the social media site to say things were since smoothed over.

"Had a sweet talk with M.K. today!! There way more important things going in the world today. #Family," he wrote.

Fuller House is set for a 2016 debut.
