Frank is about to face a new conflict on Blue Bloods.

Actor Welcomes Fans To First Day Of Shooting 'Blue Bloods' Season 6

On Monday, Carter Matt posted details on the episode that will air on January 15. Surprisingly, the death of Joe Reagan will be brought up again and it sounds like it'll have a pretty big affect.

An NYPD officer will ask for a new shield number to honor her late father, but that number will be the same as Joe's. Clearly, this will leave Frank in a confused state of mind as to what he should do.

A local mobster is also going to be gunned down in his car so Danny and Baez try to get information from a boy they find tied up in the trunk.

When it comes to Frank making decisions, it's never been an easy process. This is something Tom Selleck (Frank) noticed about his character when he discussed it on The Talk last fall.

"The responsibility of sending 35,000 men and women into harm's way is weighing on him and he has mauled over a couple times, 'even if I'm asked to come back when there's a new election, do I want to?'" Selleck said. "The big problem for him is he kind of has a hyperactive sense to responsibility and if he goes, all his universe, all those people who are part of his team will either have to retire or be promoted off."

Blue Bloods returns on Friday, January 8 on CBS.
