Mabel and Dipper have left Gravity Falls behind, but the adventure isn't over.

'Gravity Falls' Finale: Was 'Weirdmageddon Part 3' Everything You Hoped For? Fans Sound Off

Series creator Alex Hirsch had an hour to wrap up the Pines' great summer adventure, and there are a few storylines that failed to make the cut. While Gravity Falls' time on Disney XD has come to a close, fans can dive back into the adventure with the stories from Dipper's Journal No. 3.

"I will say, we are making Dipper's actual canon Journal No. 3 from the series," Hirsch told TV Insider. "Some of the lingering mysteries and threads are things that I'm very excited to explore in journal number three; all those things we couldn't fit into this finale, into the run of the series, there will be nods and explanations and stories about many of those."

In true Gravity Falls fashion, the journal will hit stores in time for summer vacation.

Meanwhile, the series ended with the promise that more epic summers could be in Mabel and Dipper's futures.

"It's not inconceivable that one day we may return to this world because they are such rich characters, and with a little bit of time away from it, it's possible there may be a special or something," Hirsch teased.
