It's only been back for one episode thus far, but Secrets and Lies has already thrown several twists out that could prove that the murder of Kate Warner (Jordana Brewster) will be one that is extremely hard to solve.

Detective Cornell (Juliette Lewis) is looking into the murder, and the case is already proving to be complicated because of the multitude of secrets surrounding the Warner family, and any one of these secrets could be the answer to why Kate was killed.

During the episode, several secrets came to light, including many that Eric (Michael Ealy) didn't know about his wife-including her secret P.O. Box and iPad in her office, or the fact that she had given birth to a child in the past, something she never mentioned to Eric. However, with her death officially ruled as a homicide, her secrets aren't necessarily the ones Cornell is looking at as deeply, even if they tell what really happened to her.

In addition, during the online companion series Cornell Confidential, Cornell tracked a cell phone that was used to contact Kate before she died. And while the homeless man who had it seemed to be unable to give her a coherent account of how he came by the phone, he did manage to tell her that the person who discarded it drove a car with New York plates-with a number of BRD 311.

So who may have been the most likely to kill Kate? Here are our weekly suspects based on the evidence so far:

Eric:

It seems heart-breaking that the husband is of course on the list, and it won't likely be satisfying if he winds up being the killer, but there's a lot we've learned about it already. First of all, there are issues with his mother, who is initially believed to be dead, but later revealed to still be alive and not a part of her son's life. In addition, Eric has a criminal past, and a juvenile record, where he served six months for the murder of a man named Steven Porter. We'll have to wait to learn more about what that actually means for him.

Amanda:

Eric's sister quickly informed him, almost immediately after Kate's death, that Cornell was going to suspect him and try to prove in any way possible that he was guilty. Coupled with her unexplained fight with her husband during Kate's funeral, her insistence they don't tell the police what they found in Kate's office, and her stash of medications that she claims she takes for "woman problems," she's hiding something big-and she immediately makes us suspicious.

Neil:

Eric's friend at the office is quickly revealed to not have approved of Kate, though he chalks it up to her job. He also has a string of failed marriages and a stream of comments that seem too perfect to be legitimate. He too is hiding something, and it's big.

The Mystery Person From New York:

Who is the person who tossed the burner phone? And why was Kate sending them a photo? What is their connection to this?

More details will emerge as the season goes on.

Secrets and Lies airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
