Currently in hiatus until its second season, Netflix's House of Cards continues to garner massive buzz for its upcoming sophomore installment.

One of the characters of the popular program that's been quite pivotal is Robin Wright, who dons the role of Claire, who runs a non-profit and is the wife of House Majority Whip, Francis Underwood (Kevin Spacey).

On June 19, Wright spoke to the The Herald about the creative intricacies that go into the popular online program, or as she would put it, a 13-episode movie.

"I think part of me was, 'TV? Really?' It's not TV. It's a 13-episode film. That's what it feels like," she said.

Interestingly enough, House of Cards is based off a 1990 miniseries with the same title, and is collaboration between writer Beau Willimon (Ides of March) and filmmaker David Fincher, who is known for his work on flicks such as The Social Network and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

"David assured me that I'd be a part of the collaboration in building the character with Kevin and Beau. A lot of times in this business, we are sold a package of goods, but I got exactly what I was sold," Wright explained.

iDigital Times had reported that Netflix is currently in the midst of sorting out an airdate for House of Cards so that it doesn't conflict with Arrested Development. The respective date is expected to be at some point in early 2014.
