Cory Monteith, who portrayed Finn Hudson on the hit TV series Glee, was found dead in his room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver.

According to police, the actor was out Friday night with friends and returned to his room in the early morning hours.

"There were others with Mr. Monteith in his room earlier (Friday) night, but video show him returning to his room by himself in the early morning hours, and we believe he was alone when he died," said Police Chief Doug LePard.

Monteith had seemed to have turned a corner recently, emerging from rehab and appearing last month with longtime girfriend and Glee co-star Lea Michele at a charity ball.
