In a recent Gizmodo interview, Oscar Issac stated that the British accent the actor put on as one of his character's multiple personalities was his idea. The actor decided to take on the lead role of Marc Spector in Marvel's upcoming superhero show Moon Knight due to the show being billed as a character study, something he was interested in after spending so much time playing Poe Dameron in the blockbuster Star Wars film series.

Moon Knight centers around Spector, a former CIA operative turned mercenary who becomes the conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. However, Spector also has dissociative identity disorder, which results in Spector having four distinct personalities. One of these personalities is a museum shop clerk from London named Steven Grant.

This version of Grant differs from the Wall Street financier depicted in the Marvel comics, and is the reason Isaac breaks out in a British accent at times during the show. The Marvel series' Grant was a result of the creative freedom given to Isaac, who demonstrated the accent after being given the go-ahead by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.

In the interview, Isaac said:

"It's funny, because afterwards he told me they didn't know what the hell I was doing. And they weren't sure it was going to work at all. But you know, in the end I'm glad we did that, because everyone says it kind of makes the show."

We're excited to see what other creative choices Isaacs has made in "Moon Knight!" The show is scheduled to arrive on the Disney+ streaming service on March 30, 2022 for its six-episode run.
