Suddenly Seymour! Skylar Astin Steps Into the Role of Seymour As The Off-Broadway Revival of 'Little Shop of Horrors' Continues
Skylar Astin is heading down to Skid Row, set to join the currently running Off-Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors.
The Pitch Perfect star and the whole-new-person Greg actor from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend will be stepping into the leading role of Seymour, taking over from Conrad Ricamora - one of the stars of the new film Fire Island, which is set to premiere on Hulu on June 3rd.
This year marks the 40th anniversary for the hit Alan Menken and Howard Ashman musical. The revival cast recently went on NPR and performed a Tiny Desk Concert of the show with thoughtful commentary from Menken himself. The show has touched the lives of many, and we are very excited to see Astin step into this impressive role.
Skylar Astin is no stranger to the stage. He made his professional stage debut in both the Broadway and Off-Broadway cast of Spring Awakening - a show that is also receiving its reunion-style due as a documentary and live concert of the show, featuring Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff, on HBO. With this revival, a lot of new information came to light (much of it concerning a desk lamp in...surprising ways.)
