The Off-Broadway revival cast of Little Shop of Horrors helped to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the classic show by performing a Tiny Desk Concert on NPR.

Little Shop of Horrors has been making the world laugh (and afraid of their plants) for the past forty years. This time-tested classic by superstars Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman has changed the lives of performers everywhere.

Previous productions of the show have featured killer casts, such as the film version, which featured Steve Martin in the important role as the Dentist; and the Original Broadway Cast, which starred Hunter Foster as Seymour.

The current Off-Broadway revival cast is no exception to this exceptionalism. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of this incredible show, along with an array of other events, the current cast went to NPR to perform a Tiny Desk Concert of the show.

The rock star cast gathered in a small room, moving through everyone's favorite hits from the show. The cast includes broadway legends such as Christian Borle, Conrad Ricamora, Tammy Blanchard, Aaron Arnell Harrington, Stuart Zagnit, Tatiana Lofton, Cristina Raé, and Khadija Sankoh.

The entirety of the Tiny Desk Concert runs just over twenty minutes. Alan Menken himself sits behind the piano, giving exclusive comentary on the show as it goes on. This is a Tiny Desk Concert you will not want to miss.

The Off-Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors is currently running at the Westside Theatre Upstairs. Tickets for the production can be purchased here.  Don't miss this chance to celebrate this 40th anniversary of this magical musical!
