Throughout the four seasons of "Stranger Things," Noah Schnapp's character, Will Byers, has been through a lot of tragic experiences, like being transported into another dimension to witnessing Eleven's superpowers. However, he wanted to switch things up a little bit for the latest season, but production denied him.

WARNING: POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD

According to Cinema Blend, his character's bowl haircut has remained the same since 2016, and creators Matt and Ross Duffer doesn't want it to change anytime soon.

In an interview with Insider, the 17-year-old actor said he repeatedly went to the Duffer brothers to express his desire to change the hairstyle for the fourth season

However, he wasn't successful in his plans as the creators denied him every single time.

"I've talked to them so many times like, 'Hey, are we thinking about a new cut for Will? There's one more season left, but they're pretty loyal to that cut. I think it is a true kind of '80s classic haircut. So I don't think we're gonna lose it anytime soon," he recalled.

Although bowl cuts were prevalent during the 80s, Schnapp consulted with his parents, who were teenagers during that era, and told him that "they weren't 16 with that haircut."

Per the outlet, the hairstyle gained its popularity in the 60s as many people were inspired by the unique style of "The Beatles."

The Will Byers Theory Addressed by Director Shawn Levy

Aside from his hairstyle that fans constantly point out, other viewers have also theorized and speculated on Will Byers' sexuality after an argument between him and Mike (Finn Wolfhard), who shouted, "It's not my fault you don't like girls!"

Shawn Levy spoke to Entertainment Weekly to address the theory, saying Mike wasn't talking about his sexuality but rather about them being at different stages of puberty.

"It's not specific to sexual orientation or anything, ever since then, a lot of these questions have come up," the director and executive producer said.

However, there were a few clues in season 4 volume I wherein it gave a hint on Will's true feelings for Mike, like their heart-to-heart talk in the canyon where he mentioned it's hard to open up about his genuine emotions.

He was also working on a school project on Alan Turing, a World War II breaker who had a sexual relationship with another man.

Levy then spoke about the theories, saying, "I guess I'll just say that there aren't many accidents on Stranger Things."
