Ben Stiller has been traveling across Europe this past week, and went to the Ukraine on Monday to visit with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

A Goodwill Ambassador for the U.N., Stiller was able to see, firsthand, the utter devastation caused in the city Of Irpin due to the ongoing invasion from Russia, before speaking with the Ukrainian President.

Stiller said this about what he witnessed:

"It's one thing to see this destruction on TV or on social networks. Another thing is to see it all with your own eyes. That's a lot more shocking."

President Zelenskyy emphasised the direness of the situation:

"What you saw in Irpin is definitely dreadful. But it is even worse to just imagine what is happening in the settlements that are still under temporary occupation in the east."

The pair talked about what kind of aid is necessary to help those in need through the ongoing support of donations made through the United Nations.

On Saturday, Stiller was in Poland, where he was able to speak with those forced to leave Ukraine.

He later issued a statement on Instagram, via the UNHCR Account:

"Hey, I'm Ben Stiller and I'm in the Ukraine. I'm meeting people who have been impacted by the war and hearing how it's changed their lives. War and violence are devastating people all over the world. Nobody chooses to flee their home. Seeking safety is a right. And it needs to be upheld for everyone."
