Mike Tyson sparked worries with his recent public appearance.

Tyson, a 56-year-old retired boxer, shocked fans when they saw him using a cane in several photos and videos despite the fact that he was once a fit athlete. Though it might suggest that he had been dealing with a new injury, he disclosed why he needed to use it in the first place.

A news outlet clarified that the boxing legend is uninjured and doing well even after dropping a worrying statement about his nearing "expiration date."

According to the website's sources, Tyson is only dealing with an old back issue, causing him to limp heavily during his outing.

"He's dealing with a sciatica flare-up. Nothing serious. Just an occupational hazard for an athlete like Mike," the insider assured.

This took away the initial qualms when he said that he would die really soon.

For what it's worth, the boxing champ revealed in the recent episode of his "Hotboxin's with Mike Tyson" podcast that he is near his end.

"We're all gonna die one day of course. Then, when I look in the mirror, I see those little spots on my face, I say, 'Wow. That means my expiration date is coming close, really soon,'" Tyson said, as quoted by Sports Illustrated.

Mike Tyson On His Health Issues

Before saying that his expiration date is nearing, Tyson first opened up the complications his health faced during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Baddest Man on Planet told

"They're allowed. You know, for instance, you're here. You can't do anybody. You eat the death. The first thing that happens to me was I was a bit overweight when the pandemic happens, unless I just focus. Boom!, everything stops. Stop eating stuff," he said.

He also sparked concerns when he slurred his words during his interview with "Good Morning Britain" years ago. He later clarified that he no longer suffered from any issues because of psilocybin.

Tyson reportedly used the hallucinogenic chemical and said it saved his life. The boxing Hall of Famer told Logan Paul's podcast, "Impaulsive," that he would eat an ounce of it before going to the gym to train.

He even consumed four grams of it live during the interview.

With that, he currently advocates for the legalization of psychedelics. He teamed up with Wesana, a famous life science company, to raise awareness about the benefits of psilocybin to his health while working on legalizing psychedelics across the country.
