Anne Heche's car crash was immediately reported through a 911 call.

The hair-raising call, publicized after Heche's death, highlighted the caller was desperately asking for help when the actress crashed into an occupied home with her blue Mini Cooper.

The audio, obtained by CNN, recorded the voices of several people panicking after the crash. The caller, a man, said, "A car just went through my neighbor's house."

"Somebody is opening the back to see if we can access because they're kinda trapped ... inside the car," the neighbor continued. It was still unknown at that time that Heche was behind the wheel.

Other people can be heard in the background, including one yelling "fire!" and another asking for hoses to prevent the flame from engulfing the car and the house.

The Los Angeles Fire Department and the City of Los Angeles Public Records also shared a copy of the call with several news outlets, including Fox News.

After receiving the call, the 911 operator tried clarifying whether the car went all the way into the house. The caller then described that it looked like the driver drove 10 feet into the residential area.

Fifty-nine firefighters responded but it still took 65 minutes before she was pulled out. The LAFD said it took them that long before they were able to "access, confine and fully extinguish the stubborn flames within the heavily damaged structure."

Meanwhile, Heche was still able to speak at that time but eventually lost consciousness - and the injuries and issues she sustained eventually led to her death.

Anne Heche's Death

In the early days after the crash, her representative assured her fans that she was doing well and in stable condition. Thus, her family was hopeful she would wake up again.

However, days later, they divulged that she was in an "extremely critical condition."

"She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention. She is in a coma and has not regained consciousness since shortly after the accident," the update revealed.

Heche's loved ones seemingly accepted the actress's fate and said she might not survive due to "a severe anoxic brain injury" and falling into a coma.

She remained on life support until Sunday after she was declared legally dead by the state of California following her brain's death. She was kept alive to preserve her organs before they could be donated to recipients who matched her.
