Angelina Jolie is said to have anonymously filed a lawsuit against the FBI days before she filed for divorce from Brad Pitt

While things between Jolie and Pitt already look messy now, a new report revealed that the actress filed a lawsuit following an alleged incident of physical and verbal assault in 2016.

Puck News' Eriq Gardner (per The Wrap), the "Meleficent" actress is Jane Doe, who sued the FBI under the Freedom of Information Act.

In the documents, Jolie informed an FBI agent that Pitt "physically and verbally assaulted" her and their children while they were aboard a private plane. The agent's notes also disclosed that the "Ad Astra" actor shouted foul words at his then-wife while grabbing her shoulders.

A physical altercation also happened, leading Jolie to sustain injuries.

"Later, during this same flight, another physical altercation allegedly took place, and Jolie said she sustained injuries; she gave the agent a photo of her elbow in an attempt to corroborate this. At another point, Jolie says Pitt poured beer on her," Puck said.

Pitt denied the claims. But a probe was launched by the FBI since the incident happened within the US' air space, but the actor was cleared after a short-lived investigation.

Because of the failed arrest, Jolie sought an explanation as to why and how the FBI came up "intriguing decision" despite the fact that Pitt deserved to be arrested at that time.

Jolie, Pitt, and the FBI have not released statements to address the new revelation.
