Sarah Jessica Parker's stepfather, Paul Giffin Forste, has reportedly died. He was 76.

Parker's family and a representative confirmed the tragic news to several news outlets, including Page Six and Radar Online, confirming that the patriarch passed away earlier this week.

The announcement also revealed that Forste was surrounded by his loved ones before his death, including Parker.

"Paul will be remembered with the spirit of loving kindness which was his faith, his special delight in his 13 grandchildren, and his sustained belief in making the world a more charitable, tolerant, and beautiful place for all," it went on.

Meanwhile, the representative revealed that the cause of death of Sarah Jessica Parker's stepfather was due to "unexpected and rapid illness." It did not exactly reveal what exactly the disease was.

Forste had been married to Parker's mother, Barbara, for 54 years. They met when the reality star was only three years old.

Parker has not shared her thoughts about the tragic event. But the "Sex and the City" actress abruptly left the New York Ballet's 10th Annual Fall Fashion Gala a few moments after her arrival upon learning of her stepfather's condition.

According to Daily Mail, the 57-year-old star was scheduled to be recognized during the star-studded gala on Wednesday at the David H. Koch Theater at the Lincoln Center in New York City.

She was supposed to personally receive an award for her "vision and leadership of the Fall Fashion Gala." She currently serves as the vice chairman of the NYCB Board of Directors, with the Fall Fashion Gala as her brainchild in 2012.
