"Deadpool 3," which stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, will infuse new life into the Marvel Cinematic Universe amid the studio's recent box office failures, according to a director.

While promoting his new movie "Argylle," Matthew Vaughn expressed excitement over the clash between Reynolds' Deadpool and Jackman's Wolverine in the upcoming superhero flick.

"The few snippets that I know about Deadpool vs. Wolverine -- or Wolverine vs. Deadpool, I'm sure that argument between Ryan and Hugh is happening as we speak -- are unbelievable," Vaughn said on BroBible's "Post-Credit" podcast.

The filmmaker went on to say that "Deadpool 3" will give the MCU the "jolt" it needs.

"The Marvel universe is about to have a jolt of them, and it's going to bring that body back to life... I think Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are about to save the whole Marvel universe," Vaughn predicted.

Despite not being directly involved in "Deadpool 3," Vaughn, who directed 2011's "X-Men: First Class," expressed his hopes for the success of the upcoming film, especially with Jackman reprising his role as Wolverine.

He stated, "I'm a genuine fan of the X-Men, all I want is for the movies to be as good as they should be."

"Deadpool 3" will mark Deadpool's official entry into the MCU after Disney acquired Fox in 2019.

This anticipation for the film comes at a crucial time for Marvel after two of its 2023 releases, "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" and "The Marvels," underperformed at the box office.

"Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" earned only $214 million domestically and $476 million worldwide, failing to break even on its substantial production and marketing costs.

Meanwhile, "The Marvels" concluded its box office run last month as the lowest-grossing installment in MCU history, according to Variety.

The "Deadpool" franchise has a track record of both financial and critical success.

The first film, released in 2016, earned $782.6 million against a $58 million budget, and its 2018 sequel, "Deadpool 2," surpassed its predecessor, earning $785.8 million worldwide.

Filming for "Deadpool 3" recently concluded after facing delays caused by the SAG-AFTRA strike.

Reynolds announced the wrap on Instagram last week, expressing gratitude to the cast, crew and director Shawn Levy and poking fun at Jackman.

"The suit hides the blood. Also, sweat... But today, with 'Deadpool' wrapping, it's mostly tears. A giant and forever thanks to the cast and crew of our film who battled wind, rain, strikes and @thehughjackman all under the stalwart leadership of @slevydirect," Reynolds wrote on Instagram. "I got to make a movie with my closest pals and that doesn't happen very often. See ya July 26th."

"Deadpool 3" hits theaters on July 26.
