Jay-Z Shades Grammy’s During Acceptance Speech For Snubbing Beyoncé On 'Album Of The Year' Wins
Jay-Z threw shade at the 2024 Grammy Awards by standing on business regarding his wife and most Grammy awarded singer Beyonce during his acceptance speech.
After winning the 2nd Annual "Dr. Dre Global Impact Award," the "Hard Knock Life" rapper went on to thank Dr. Dre for inspiring so many, followed by the Black Music Collective, and reminisced on his first Grammy win in 1998 — but he didn't stop there.
"I don't want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than anyone and never won album of the year. So even by your own metrics, that doesn't work," he said.
"Some of you are going to go home tonight and feel like you've been robbed," the 54-year-old said. "Some of you may get robbed. Some of you don't belong in the category."
"Nah, that was it! Nah, when I get nervous, I tell the truth," he laughed.
According to the Grammy's website, he is now tied with Kanye West as the rapper with the most Grammy wins in history.
In 2023, Queen Bey's Renaissance Tour awarded her a 32nd Grammy — making her the record-holder for most Grammys ever won in history. She has never won for 'Album of the Year.'

Beyonce was brought to tears by singer Adele's acceptance speech at the 59th annual Grammy Awards. Although Beyonce didn't take home the award, Adele tearfully used her stage time to highlight Queen Bey and the superstar's musical contribution for her Lemonade' album.
"I can't possibly accept this award. And I'm very humbled, and I'm very grateful and gracious, but my artist of my life is Beyoncé, and this Lemonade album was just...so monumental, and so well thought-out and so beautiful and soul-bearing and we all got to see another side to you that you don't always let us see, and we appreciate that," Adele, 35, said.
Jay-Z ended his speech on a positive note — hand-in-hand with daughter, Blue Ivy — encouraging artists to keep showing up until they "give you all the accolades you deserve."
