Netlflix's hit series, House of Cards has clearly taken the world of television by storm since first hitting the map.

The popular program has been nominated for a whopping nine Emmy awards, which is unheard of for a show that streams its episodes on the web.

While speaking to Stephen Colbert about HoC on The Colbert Report, actor Kevin Spacey (Francis Underwood) was asked the following question by the host:

"Why should you get an award for TV when you're not on TV. What do you want next, the Heisman?" Colbert asked.

Instead of putting up his dukes, the actor went into detail on just how he feels the very series he's a part of is paving the way for the future of scripted programming.

"Look, it's the way things are going. If you look at the last 8 years the way people have been watching, binging on shows-it all started with box sets. What's remarkable about how the audience has responded to House Of Cards coming out all at once, all 13 of the first season came out, is that they are in control," he said.

Cast & crew filming details revealed!

No current launch date for Netflix's House of Cards has officially been announced. However, it was recently projected to start up its second season at some point in early 2014. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest information on the nine-time Emmy-nominated series.
