Cobie Smulders has confirmed that she will be starring in the Avengers sequel, according to a recent interview she gave to the Calgary Herald.

The actress, who also starred in the original, will most probably be reprising her role as S.H.I.E.L.D agent Maria Hill in the sequel, Age of Ultron.

"I think I'm in Avengers 2, but it is very top secret," she told the publication while promoting the upcoming comedy-drama Delivery Man, which opens on Nov. 22.

"I hope I'm in Avengers 2. I didn't get my invitation yet. Well, actually, they know I'm in it but they don't know to what degree I'm in it," she added.

Smulders plays the role of TV reporter Robin Scherbatsky on How I Met Your Mother.

The actress, who is also an Avengers fan, went on to speak about how she was anxiously awaiting Avengers director Joss Whedon's call. "I am really excited to read the script because they are introducing Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch into the Avengers universe and the bad guy is going to be very interesting," she said.

Smulders will also be playing the role of her Avengers character in the upcoming Marvel film, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In a recent interview, Smulders spoke about her experience working in the film. "It's another installment of an amazing Marvel film. It's exciting for me because I get to suit up again but it takes place right after The Avengers, "The Battle of New York" has just happened," she said. "It's really about [working within] the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization, which my character Maria Hill is a big part of. It's showing the inner workings of S.H.I.E.L.D. and how it's very flawed at the moment."
