On the upcoming second half of The Walking Dead season 4, many of the first half's mysteries will be resolved.

Walking Dead comic book writer Robert Kirkman told Entertainment Weekly in a recent interview that various loose ends from the first half of the season will be tied up in the second half. This includes possibly unveiling the identity of who is leaving the rats being left by the fence.

"That's like a whole plot thread! I wanna know what happens there! We wouldn't leave that hanging," Kirkman promised, when asked about the rats.

When asked if viewers would learn more about the faint radio signal heard by Daryl (Norman Reedus), Kirkman was optimistic.

"We will absolutely, definitely learn a ton more about that. I think that the first eight episodes of the season probably deserve a rewatch if you're really invested in what's coming up."

He added that there are many "breadcrumbs" that were left in the first half of the season that will make sense after rewatching the entire fourth season.

Though Kirkman was very tight-lipped on the show's new characters, he did say that many will seem like they were ripped right from the Walking Dead comics, in terms of their look.

Some of the new characters introduced include Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and Rosita (Christian Serratos) and Eugene (Josh McDermitt), a trio of fellow survivors who Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) meets at Hershel's farm after the prison battle in the comics.

The Walking Dead season 4 returns with its midseason premiere on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
