The cast members, writers and crew of Saturday Night Live made a farewell video for Seth Meyers as he moves on to his own late night show on NBC.

Fred Armisen to "Curate and Lead" House Band for Late Night with Seth Meyers.

A whole lot of love came Meyer's way from Taran Killam, Nasim Pedrad, Bobby Moynihan, Jay Pharoah and Vanessa Bayer, amongst others.

Killam thanked the comic for getting him a job on the show while Pedrad thanked him for tolerating her dad during SNL afterparties. Moynihan was just grateful because he believed Meyers kept him from going insane on the show. Pharoah wished he could be half as good as Meyers. Weekend Update writers Pete Schultz and Josh Patten touted him as the best boss they'd ever had. Keenan Thompson actually held back tears while recording his message.

Meyers' New Show to be More Political Than Jimmy Fallon's?

Meyers' last day hosting Weekend Update for SNL was on Feb. 1. and the 40-year-old said that the idea of leaving was "heartbreaking."

"I'm one of the few SNL cast members who managed to parlay my acting ability into being a writer," Meyers said of his time working on the show at the TV Critics Conference on Jan. 19.

Late Night with Seth Meyers will premiere on Feb. 24 and Amy Poehler will be his first guest for his Late Night show on NBC.

Meyers expressed his grief at having to cut ties with the late night variety show to The Wrap

"I love it so much, I really have tried to get every last bit out of it. It would have been depressing not to be here for these last three shows."

Meyers' current co-host for Weekend Update, Cecily Strong, will be taking over the news desk for now. The actor suggested that she might get someone else on board to help out with the news desk duties.

"Cecily comes from that Chicago ensemble world and ... she loves playing off of someone, so I wouldn't be surprised to see her with someone else," he said.
