Six competitors were left standing following American Idol's Thursday evening elimination, and Dexter Roberts was not one of them.

The Alabama native joined a long list of Idol castoffs as he said his last goodbyes on April 17 and walked off the stage for the final time.

Unfortunately for Roberts, there is no longer a safety net for America's least favorite performer. In previous episodes, eliminated performers had the chance to be bailed out of their sinking ships by a friendly judge but that option went out the window when Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr. used their only Save to rescue Sam Woolf on April 3.

With no other recourse, Roberts had to content himself with singing Montgomery Gentry's Lucky Man for his final performance.

While Robert's undoubtedly received the worst news of the night, Jessica Meuse had a few heart-pounding minutes after discovering that she was in the bottom two. The solo artist must have been crossing all her fingers and toes as she suffered through her first close brush with elimination.
