Despite working together in their latest film, it looks as though there might be some friction between Hollywood actors Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt.

Is Tom Cruise Dating Laura Prepon?

The actress apparently dissed her co-star in an interview dating back from 2005 in which she said she would never accept a role "as a spear carrier in a Tom Cruise movie." During her recent media blitz to promote her film with Cruise, Edge of Tomorrow, Blunt denied making the statement until a journalist provided a hard copy of her quote and presented it in front of her.

In what was an awkward moment in her interview, Blunt allegedly laughed nervously at her old remarks and said, "That is so funny. Well, at least I'm not a spear carrier."

Despite the statement she made, Blunt is still defending her decision to work with the former A-lister, calling Cruise a great actor to work with.

"We laughed a lot. That's the wonderful thing about Tom: he doesn't take himself that seriously and he is very self-effacing," Blunt said in an interview with Britain's The Telegraph. "He couldn't care less what people think about him and that's quite refreshing."

Tom Cruise Might Have His Eye On Fellow Scientologist Elisabeth Moss

Meanwhile, it seems as though Blunt is promoting the film for both of them, as Cruise has not given any interviews after his deposition in his case against Life & Style Magazine last year and his ex-publicist dishing the dirt on his private life. There is speculation that Cruise is keeping quiet in order to repair his tarnished image in the media.

Edge of Tomorrow, which also stars Brendan Gleeson and Bill Paxton, opens in theaters on June 6.
