Homeland has cast another actor for the upcoming fourth season, this time enlisting an actor from an Oscar-winning film.

Actor Suraj Sharma has signed on for the fourth season of Homeland, according to a new report by Entertainment Weekly. Sharma is set to play Aayan Ibrahim, which the report describes as a "Pakistani medical student who crosses paths with Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes)." The report says that the role is heavily recurring.

Sharma is most famous for his starring role as Pi Patel in Life of Pi, which won four Oscars in 2012. He also stars in the current Jon Hamm baseball film Million Dollar Arm.

Sharma joins previously cast actors Corey Stoll (House of Cards) and Laila Robins (The Sopranos) who are making their Homeland debuts in Season 4.

Robins is set to play Martha Boyd, a U.S. Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Martha is a professional who is describe as having a "ship-to-ship" voice and a matching personality. She will be a series regular in Season 4.

Meanwhile, Stoll is set to guest star as Sandy Bachman, the CIA Chief of Station in Pakistan. He is described as a "rising star" in the agency.

Homeland Season 4 premieres in fall 2014 on Showtime, though the network has not yet announced a specific premiere date. It will presumably be returning to its regular Sundays at 9 p.m. timeslot.
