Homeland star Mandy Patinkin has revealed that he is about to go to South Africa for several months for the filming of the show's fourth season.

Brody's Death Casts A Shadow Over Carrie As Homeland Moves Forward?

It was previously announced that Homeland would be filming in South Africa in Season 4, a location that will reportedly double as the Middle East. Patinkin, who plays Saul Berenson on the series, discussed what he knows about Season 4 with Access Hollywood recently.

"I'm about to go to South Africa for seven months," he revealed. "We'll be based in Cape Town...we begin shooting [and it will last] all the way through November."

Fara To Have 'Key Role' On Carrie's Team In Season 4?

As for specific details about the plot of Season 4, Patinkin likes to remain in the dark.

"I specifically ask the writers to not tell me what's going to happen because my attitude is... I don't know what's gonna happen in Mandy's life five minutes from now, five seconds from now, why should I know what's gonna happen in Saul Berenson's life?" he said.

It is not known if the entire season will be set in the Middle East, but it is safe to presume that Saul will be there in the action. Enstars previously reported that Carrie (Claire Danes) will be stationed at "one of the most volatile and dangerous CIA stations in the Middle East where she is back on the front lines in the war on terror."

Presumably, Saul will be by her side in the never-ending war, though anything is possible.

Homeland Season 4 premieres in fall 2014 on Showtime, though the network has not yet announced a specific premiere date.
