As Transformers 4: Age of Extinction raked in the bug bucks, it seemed like an automatic nod to Transformers 5. But despite the rumors and some producers already talking about the sequel to Age of Extinction, there could still be the possibility of the film not being made at all.

Beast Wars To Be Main Theme Of Transformers 4: Age Of Extinction Sequel?

A an interview with Mstars dated July 31, the composer for Transformers 4: Age of Extinction, Steve Jablonsky, revealed that things weren't definite yet and he wasn't sure if the movie was even getting made. When asked if he was working on Transformers 5 as well, he seemed pretty clueless.

"I literally don't know anything about Transformers 5. I don't even know if they're going to make it," he said. "So I haven't even thought about it at all."

Transformers 5 Setting Will Be "Very Similar" To Age of Extinction, Take Place On Earth?

Jablonsky went on to talk about his process of composing for the franchise and how he works in collaboration with Bay and the director's vision. "That's sort of the way I work in general but definitely on theTransformers films. I just waited to see something from him to see what kind of craziness he came up with," he said. "So I haven't thought any further beyond this one, Age of Extinction."

The producer's complete lack of knowledge on the subject might raise suspicions about the next movie getting made at all.

"You probably know more than I do! Nobody's said anything to me whether Transformers 5 is happening or not," he added. "If it does happen, then I will think about it at that point."

Transformers: Age of Extinction hit theaters on June 27, 2014.
