There still isn't a full guarantee that Devious Maids will be able to return for a third season on Lifetime, but fans may be able to see some of the biggest questions from the season 2 finale cliffhangers answered early on if the show is picked up again.

Rebecca Wisocky's 'Fingers Are Crossed' For Season 3?

Lifetime has yet to officially announce if the hit series will return for a third season, but it hasn't stopped fan fervor over how the show would address some of the huge storylines the season 2 finale left things off with.

First on the list of storylines fans are reportedly rooting for ahead of a possible third season appears to be a true and genuine resolution to Rosie (Dania Ramirez) and Spence's (Grant Show) love story, after their wedded bliss was interrupted by gunshots-and many have assumed that Spence could be gravely injured-or even dead. Adding to the couple's drama, Rosie's first husband has turned up again, and is an extremely eerie presence because he's supposed to be dead. While the drama for the couple is sure to be thrilling, fans are eager to see them finally have some peace in their lives.

Edy Ganem Doesn't Want Valentina 'To Die' In New Season?

Other major developments from the season two finale included the advancement of Carmen's (Roselyn Sanchez) music career-which saw her accidentally sleeping with a record production executive's husband, and finding out whether Pablo (Alex Fernandez) or Javier (Ivan Hernandez) is the father of Zoila's (Judy Reyes) baby.

Fans aren't the only ones hoping for word about a potential third season. Several members of the show's cast have come forward with their own opinions about the show coming back, with the most recent being Sanchez, who told Fox News Latino August 7 that the show needed to come back.

"Everyone is very positive, it's the highest rated show for Lifetime so they need it," she said. "We are super proud of it."

Though both the cast and fans are hopeful for a return, there isn't a guarantee that Lifetime will pick the show up once again.

While the show had respectable ratings for its second season, viewers came to watch in lower numbers on average, compared to the high ratings the first season managed to bring in.

The drama did face some increasingly stiff competition  in its 10 p.m. Sunday timeslot this past season however, and was beaten by a wide variety of popular shows, including HBO's Silicon Valley and The Leftover, AMC's Mad Men, Bravo's Real Housewives of Atlanta and Real Housewives of New Jersey, Adult Swim's Bob's Burgers, TLC's Return to Amish, TNT's Falling Skies and Discovery's Naked and Afraid.

A decision on the series' fate should be released soon.
