In the wake of season one's devastation, it looks like The Originals will be escalating the carnage when it returns on The CW this fall.

Klaus 'Jumping At The Bit' In New Episodes Of 'The Originals'

"Today is all about flying bodies, flying fists, and flying claret. #TheOriginals," tweeted Declan de Barra, one of the writers for the series. Not only was this declaration enthusiastically retweeted by star Joseph Morgan (Klaus) on Friday afternoon, it was also followed up by some additional Intel on the drama's second season.

"Stunt People," continued the writer, "The brotherhood and sisterhood of calculated lunacy #TheOriginals".

'Vampire Diaries' Crossover Episode Won't Be Headed To 'The Originals' Just Yet

Stunt performers mean some pretty intense fighting, and a declaration of "lunacy" suggests that things will get pretty ugly with the "flying bodies" and "flying fists". Back in June the crew filmed a 20 man stunt sequence, and so the new episodes won't fall short when it comes to thrills.

Over the last few weeks Morgan and actor Sebastian Roche (Mikael) have boasted some fight training and night shoots, which could be linked to the mayhem unleashed on the set on Friday. Nonetheless, de Barra's reference to the day suggests that production has moved back into daytime filming, which means the performers will get to relax a bit for a change when the sun goes down.

The Originals returns to The CW for a second season on a new night Monday, October 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
