The show runner on FX's Sons of Anarchy seems to be very impressed by Glee actress Lea Michele's guest performance in Season 7, which is set to air this fall.

Michele made headlines this summer for being cast on Sons of Anarchy in a role that is very against-type for the Broadway-inclined actress. She is playing Gertie, a truck stop waitress/single mom who befriends Gemma (Katey Sagal).

Sons of Anarchy boss Kurt Sutter revealed to TVLine in a Sunday report that he is helping edit Michele's episode, saying that she is great in it.

"I'm just now doing post-[production] on that episode, and she's great," Sutter revealed. "She completely went there. Not a stitch of makeup. She's just a frumpy waitress. She really got it and embraced what the show was. I'm thrilled."

She is expected to appear in Episode 6 of the new season, titled Smoke 'em If You Got 'em, slated to air Oct. 14.

Sutter also explained to TVLine that Paris Barclay, who is involved in both Glee and Sons of Anarchy, was the one who helped facilitate Michele's guest spot.

"He's really close to all those actors, and really helped them through their time of need," Sutter noted. "And I knew she was a big fan of the show, and we had this role that opened up. It was sort of a one-off and I knew we'd be able to get her in and out in a day. And the timing worked for her. She was thrilled."

Sons of Anarchy will premiere its seventh and final season Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 10 p.m. on FX.
