Penny Dreadful fans better get ready for more werewolf drama, because the Showtime series will be exploring Ethan Chandler's animal side during the show's second season.

The Victorian supernatural drama returned to shooting at night on Wednesday, and producer Christopher King referenced Ethan (Josh Hartnett) in describing the scene.

While it is unconfirmed as to whether or not Hartnett was onset at the time, the fact that King has werewolves on the brain suggests Ethan's origins just might be revealed in upcoming episodes. During Season 1 Miss Vanessa Ives (Eva Green) got her own origins episode, told almost exclusively in one long flashback, which could happen again with Ethan this year.

Penny Dreadful has been pulling some long hours on set as the film the third episode of the season, and to keep spirits up King cracked a few jokes on Twitter about the status of production.

All these scenic locations are likely part of creator John Logan's plan to create a wider world for the program this season, branching out beyond the streets of London as the characters move forward.

Penny Dreadful returns to Showtime for a second season in 2015.
