The cast and crew for Showtime's Penny Dreadful is heading home for the holidays, but not before celebrating one final victory for 2014.

Recently producer Christopher King rejoiced as the Victorian supernatural drama was praised as one of the best shows of the year.

The series came in at #26 on The Hollywood Reporter's list, which consisted of 31 programs. While it was acknowledged that Penny Dreadful is one of Showtime's more low-profile shows, its unique framework and dark tone make it one to watch.

This honor came just as the program's cast and crew were getting into the holiday spirit, dressing up and goofing around in their holiday sweaters before wrapping for the year.

Production for season 2 will resume in Dublin next month, with nearly half of the new episodes already completed.

Penny Dreadful returns on Showtime for a second season in 2015.
