The new episode of AMC's hit show The Walking Dead picked up exactly where things left off after the mid season opener. Tyreese is now dead, and the survivors are traveling 60 miles down a rural road looking for safety.

What Will Happen After Tyreese's Death On 'The Walking Dead?'

During the new episode Them, it became clear that the survivors were at their lowest. Maggie, Daryl and Sasha were mourning their losses and it seemed as if everyone has lost hope.

Things got pretty exciting when a new character was introduced on the show. Aaron, a character in Robert Kirkman's comic series, is now a part of the show, and his character could be a representation of hope and safety for the group.

Aaron's introduction alludes to the idea that the Alexandria Safe Zone, the show's anticipated location, is nearby and it looks like the survivors have reached a place of refuge.

When the newbie approached, some of the characters were ready to blow his brains out, but he insisted that he was a good guy and he asked to speak with Rick. Rick wasn't sure if he can trust him but it looked like Aaron simply wanted to help.

In Kirkman's comic series, Aaron was a recruiter for the Alexandria Safe Zone. This place was home for the survivors, a gated secure community that kept them out of harm's way. Aaron's presence on the show could mean that safety is nearby.

While Aaron could help the survivors, his presence could also mean that danger is on its way. Rick and the survivors ending up in Alexandria could also mean that Negan, the leader of the violent survivors, is not far behind.

Based on the new speak peek for next week's episode, things are heating up and Rick and his group may have found themselves in some serious danger.

The Walking Dead airs every Sunday night at 9 p.m. on AMC. Viewers can watch a sneak peek of the new episode in the video below.
