While some viewers have nothing but praise for the new film, there have been many critics who believe that Fifty Shades promotes sexual violence. The actress said that Mr. Grey never abuses Ana and her character always made her own decisions.

"I think that is sort of an uneducated opinion," Dakota said. "Maybe because I know more about the BDSM world, so it makes sense to me, but everything that these characters do, they make the decision to do it."

While Ana may not have been forced to engage in sexual activity with the billionaire businessman, some critics believe that Ana's decisions were compelled by Mr. Grey.

Fifty Shades Darker has experienced a delay in production reportedly due to an ongoing feud between author E.L. James and film direction Sam Taylor Johnson and the actors have been told to plan on an early 2016 shoot for a 2017 release.
