After rumors swirled that Fox's juggernaut series Empire would be hit with a lawsuit, it looks like it finally happened.

A man named Ron Newt, who is also close with the Jackson family, is not only suing the show but its creator Lee Daniels and star Terrence Howard (who plays male lead role Lucious Lyon).

TMZ reported Wednesday that Newt who is a self-proclaimed "known ghetto player" said he and Howard met at a Four Seasons hotel long ago. They got chatty and even talked about a documentary for Newt that had the title Bigger Than Big. Howard then said he wanted to star as Newt.

But now, Empire is a huge success and Newt can't help but notice there are things eerily similar to his real-life story; so much so that Newt is suing for a billion dollars.

There were four drug dealers who were murdered in the show's debut season, which is the exact same number who were killed in Newt's Bigger Than Big script.

On top of that Lucious shot his childhood friend in the series opener. Well, in Bigger Than Big Prince also fires a gun at an acquaintance.

A woman named China Doll in the documentary is also pretty similar to Cookie as she also went to jail for drugs and was released.

Empire has been accused of portraying the real-life stories of several people from the every day person to allegedly copying Sean "P. Diddy" Combs' life. But the co-creator Danny Strong said earlier this year if Empire is based on anyone's life, it would be rapper Jay Z, and even that is a pretty loose comparison.
