Asa Butterfield is looking more and more like Marvel/Sony's next Spider-Man.

The Ender's Game actor first came to our attention when The Wrap shortlisted him for the Peter Parker role, and now the Latino Review has named Butterfield as the current frontrunner.

Previously listed alongside John Green veteran Nat Wolff (The Fault in Our Stars, Paper Towns), Tom Holland (Wolf Hall, The Imposable), Timothee Chalamet (Interstellar, Homeland), and Liam James (The Killing, Psych) as five of Sony's most eligible Spidey's , it appears the Brit has moved to the front of the line as casting nears.

Sony's next Spider-Man reboot - rumored to be titled Spider-Man: The Next Avenger - isn't set to hit theaters until 2017, Sony must cast the role before filming concludes for Captain America: Civil War. The high school hero will make his debut in the 2016 Marvel film, which is currently filming in Georgia.
