Families seeking to get some back-to-school shopping in this weekend could be in for the best time to go their favorite retailers and score deals with no sales tax added on if they live in certain states.

The annual Tax Free Weekend has officially begun, giving shoppers in 12 states a chance at spending their hard-earned money without having to calculate additional amounts of sales tax into their register totals.

However, some restrictions do apply. Here's a state-by-state breakdown of what to expect:

Alabama: From August 7-9, shoppers won't have to pay tax on clothing purchases of $100 or less, computer purchases of $750 or less, school supplies purchases of $50 or less, and book purchases of $30 or less.

Florida: From August 7 until the 16th, school supply purchases, including clothing of $100 or less, supplies of $15 or less, and computers of $750 or less are tax free.

Iowa: From August 7-8, any clothing purchase of $100 or less is tax-free.

Louisiana: All TPP purchases up to $2,500 will be tax-free from August 7-8

Missouri: Clothing purchases of $100 or less, computer purchases up to $3,500, and school supply purchases of $50 will be tax-free Aug 7-9

New Mexico: From Aug 7-9 Clothing purchases of $100 or less, computer purchases up to $1,000, computer equipment purchases of $500 or less and school supplies purchases of $30 are tax-free.

Ohio: Those in the Buckeye State will get clothing purchases of $75 or less, school supplies purchases of $20 or less, and instructional material of $20 or less tax-free until August 9.

Oklahoma: Clothing purchases of $100 or less are tax-free until the 9th.

South Carolina: There are no limits on spending but clothing, school supplies and computer purchases will be tax-free all weekend.

Tennessee: Clothing purchases of $100 or less, school supplies purchases of $100 or less and computer purchases up to $1,500 will have no sales tax

Texas: Get any clothing, backpack and school supplies purchase of $100 or less without tax added on

Virginia: Clothing purchases of $100 or less, school supplies purchases of $20 or less, energy star products of $2,500 , hurricane preparedness items of $60 or more and generator purchases of $1,000 will be tax-free.
